PARENTAL EDUCATION IN THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT OF A SPECIALIZED PEDIATRIC INSTITUTE IN PERU: A PILLAR OF COMPREHENSIVE NURSING CARE

En las Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos Pediátricos (UCIP) se brinda atención a niños en estado crítico, donde la atención centrada en la familia es un pilar fundamental, puesto que la separación familiar incrementa la ansiedad y el temor tanto en los niños como en sus padres, en este contexto, la enfermera interviene a través de sesiones educativas y apoyo emocional con el fin de mitigar el estrés parental ante la hospitalización de su hijo en una unidad crítica.
