Evaluación pre participativa del deportista en edad pediátrica

Entidades rectoras como la Academia Europea de Pediatría (EAP) y la Confederación Europea de Pediatras de Atención Primaria (ECPCP) reconocen la importancia de fomentar estilos de vida saludables en la población pediátrica, dentro de ellos la actividad física. Sin embargo, hallazgos de un estudio internacional demuestran una notable disminución de la participación deportiva en niños europeos, durante el 2017 y 2020; así mismo, la Federación Mundial de Obesidad (WOF) indicó que, en Latinoamérica, las tasas de sedentarismo en jóvenes, entre 11 y 18 años, superan el 82 %. En el Perú, el 85 % la población pediátrica no realiza, al menos, 60 minutos de actividad moderada a vigorosa al día, según lo recomendado por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS).
